Heating contractors get longer license restoration

Beginning October 1, 2025, Maryland heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration contractors have longer to restore expired licenses. The application window grows from 90 days to four years after expiration. Restoration requires payment of the renewal or reinstatement fee. Covered licenses include master, master restricted, limited, journeyman, journeyman restricted, and apprentice licenses. After four years, the State Board may require applicants to apply as though they had never been licensed.
