Higher filing fees for home foreclosures

Beginning October 1, 2025, the fee to start a residential mortgage foreclosure rises from $300 to $450. This applies to an order to docket or a complaint to foreclose a mortgage or deed of trust. The filing party pays this fee in addition to other required filing fees. The law does not create a new direct payment duty for homeowners.
