Frederick County theaters get new alcohol license

Beginning June 1, 2025, Frederick County’s licensing board can issue a Class C (Theater) license to theaters with seating. The license costs $150 annually and allows beer, wine, and liquor sales for drinking at the theater. Sales are allowed only from one hour before until one hour after a qualifying event. Qualifying events include regular performances, fundraiser performances benefiting the theater, and events hosted by outside groups renting the theater. The theater’s manager or another official designated by the theater can sign the application.
