Beginning July 1, 2025, Caroline County’s licensing board can issue one license covering multiple events within a particular license class. It replaces separate event licenses and covers one premises for up to 40 days per calendar year. The same applicant must cover all events unless the board approves a replacement in writing after a hearing. Fees are $250 for up to 10 events, $500 for 20, $750 for 30, or $1,000 for 40; unused events bring no refund. A server with alcohol-awareness certification must be present whenever alcohol is served. Alcohol can stay between events in a specially marked, locked, secure place, but cannot be sold or consumed outside licensed event hours. License holders must keep complete purchase and sales records, including before-and-after inventories for each event, on-site for two years. Records must be available to authorized Comptroller, Executive Director, and board personnel; authorized personnel can also inspect the premises. A first violation brings a $100 fine; later violations bring a fine up to $500 and denial of future individual-event or special multiple-event license requests.
Beginning July 1, 2025, Caroline County’s licensing board can license owners of properties zoned as rural special event venues. The license allows beer, wine, and liquor sales for drinking on-site. Annual fees are $250 for up to 10 events, $500 for 20, $750 for 30, or $1,000 for 40. Each license covers one premises and cannot move to another location. Owners must buy alcohol only from licensed wholesalers, follow county sales hours, and meet alcohol-awareness training requirements.
