Bangor nonprofit can buy state center
Maine’s Department of Administrative and Financial Services can sell the Elizabeth Levinson Center to United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Maine. The building is at 159 Hogan Road in Bangor, and the commissioner sets the sale terms. The price must equal current market value, based on a broker’s value opinion and a current comparison of similar properties. The price cannot exceed $100,000. The state sells the building as is, without guarantees or warranties. Sale money must repay the department’s administrative costs, with remaining proceeds going to the Bureau of General Services’ building repair and improvement account. The authority to sell expires five years after the law’s effective date.
