Sentencing rules for intimate deepfakes

The law adds sharing intimate deepfake sexual images, in cases with aggravating factors, to Michigan’s sentencing guidelines. It classifies the crime as a Class F felony with a maximum sentence of 3 years. Michigan courts must use the state guidelines when sentencing this offense. This change takes effect only if House Bill 4047 also becomes law. If that happens, it takes effect immediately.
