Chip-enabled Bridge Cards for Michigan benefit recipients
Michigan must issue chip-enabled Bridge Cards to people receiving food or cash assistance. The deadline is one year after the law takes effect. Issuance must follow federal law and applicable industry standards published by the Accredited Standards Committee X9. The state must keep upgrading the cards with new security features that replace or work alongside the chip.
