This section is repealed on October 1, 2029. After that date, these fees and related authorities no longer apply.
Registrants pay $270 each year for every product they register. Pay before July 1. If a pesticide renewal is paid after June 30, add $100 per pesticide. Specialty fertilizer or soil conditioner registrations owe an extra $100 for each brand, product name, and grade. Fertilizer makers or distributors licensed under part 85 pay $0.0005 per pound sold. Specialty fertilizer and soil conditioner registrants are excluded from the per‑pound fee. These fees stay in place until October 1, 2029.
All fees and any interest go to the state treasurer and are put in the fund. If the money is used for things not listed in this part, the department must stop collecting the fees until the money is returned to the fund. The department can audit fee records or hire outside auditors. These rules last until October 1, 2029.
