Missouri sellers may round cash purchase totals to the nearest 5 cents after calculating all items, discounts, and taxes. Totals ending in 1, 2, 6, or 7 cents round down; those ending in 3, 4, 8, or 9 cents round up. This option does not apply to credit, debit, or other noncash payments. Sellers must still send the full tax due to the state. Sellers following this rule in good faith do not violate state or local requirements by rounding.
