Mapping council members can recover expenses

Appointed mapping council members serve without pay. They may receive reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses from council work, subject to funds appropriated for the council. The law sets no reimbursement amount.

Missouri creates mapping council with privacy limits

The law creates the Missouri GIS Advisory Council within the Office of Administration to advise on shared mapping data systems. Its goal is immediate statewide data access for residents, with emphasis on emergency services, including next-generation 911. Members include designated agency representatives and at least 14 appointed Missouri citizens, with expertise and geographic balance across the state. Appointed members serve two-year terms; the council meets at least quarterly and selects leaders for one-year terms. The council must adopt written management guidelines and designate a secretary to keep records and handle correspondence. It cannot collect information that identifies someone, either alone or combined with other linked personal information.
