Wayne County court fees extended to 2029

Effective upon passage, the law extends Wayne County's court assessment authority from a 2024 repeal to July 1, 2029. The Board of Supervisors can impose these fees by resolution, on top of existing assessments and court costs. In Wayne County Justice Court, each conviction or nonadjudication under the Mississippi Implied Consent Law can carry up to $50. Each other misdemeanor conviction or civil case filed can carry up to $25. The money funds construction, operation, maintenance, and related needs of the Wayne County Justice Complex.
