Effective July 1, 2025, the law keeps Mississippi’s harvest-permit weight allowance in place until July 1, 2028. Eligible permit holders can exceed authorized total, tandem, or axle weights by up to 10%, with total weight capped at 88,000 pounds. The allowance covers specified products and materials, or trips from loading to unloading for processing. Trips generally must stay within a 100-mile radius, except for transportation within Mississippi for processing. Interstate highways and roads where officials prohibit the allowance remain excluded; counties and towns can designate routes.
