2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

Funding for access roads, with local share

The special road fund can only pay to build or fix access roads to, and roads within, recreational, tourist, and historical areas picked by the special road committee. Spending stays within what the Legislature appropriates. Cities and counties, tribal governments, and state agencies can apply using the committee’s forms. The committee may require the applicant to pay part of the project cost.

Interest feeds road fund, time limits apply

The State Treasurer puts highway fund money in an interest account at the Bank of North Dakota. Eighty percent of the interest goes into the special road fund. If money is not obligated by June 30 of each odd-numbered year, it is held two more years. After that, the unspent money returns to the state highway fund.
