North Dakota adopts federal meat safety rules

The law makes federal meat and poultry inspection rules part of North Dakota law. It uses 9 C.F.R. parts 301-320, 325, 329, 381, 391, 416-418, 424, 430, 441, 442, and 500 as they stood on July 3, 2024. It excludes 9 C.F.R. 307.5 and 381.38. Slaughterhouses and processors must follow these rules, and state inspectors enforce them. Consumers get uniform, up-to-date safety standards.
