Phone providers face 911 fee limits and deadlines

Assessed communications service providers can keep only their actual fee collection costs and any 911 database charges. They may not keep more than 5.5% of the fee collected. Providers must send the fee money within 30 days after they collect it from the customer. A provider with fewer than 10 subscribers or customers in a jurisdiction may pay the money quarterly.
