Public workers' deferred compensation fees and funding

If you take part in North Dakota’s public employees deferred compensation plan, you pay the plan’s administrative costs. The board or its vendor charges reasonable fees and can deduct them from your deferred account. The board can also use fines and fees it collects from vendors to pay costs, which can lower what is taken from members. Money deducted and vendor payments go into an administrative expenses account at the state treasurer. Funds in that account and a payroll clearing account are continuously available to pay consultants needed to run the plan.
