State covers assault exams and child interviews

The Attorney General reimburses health care providers for reasonable costs of medical screening and acute forensic exams after sexual assault. Payments come from the state general fund and depend on available legislative funding. Accredited children’s advocacy centers in North Dakota are reimbursed for forensic interviews only when Medicaid or crime victims compensation will not pay. Centers must be accredited and in-state. Providers and centers must submit required paperwork to get paid.
