1-gram cap on concentrate containers

Each container for medical cannabinoid concentrates is limited to 1 gram. Dispensaries cannot put more than 1 gram in a single container. Expect smaller packages when you buy concentrates.

Caregivers must be 21 or older

A designated caregiver must be at least 21 years old. The caregiver must agree to manage the patient’s medical marijuana use.

New ID and signature rules for applications

Your patient application must list your name, address, and date of birth. If you name a caregiver, include the caregiver’s name, address, and date of birth. You must add a photo copy of your North Dakota ID and keep the original ready for inspection. If your medical condition prevents a current North Dakota ID, you may use other department-approved documents. You must sign and date the form. For minors, a parent or legal guardian responsible for health care decisions must sign. For minors, include a certified birth record or a photo copy of the minor’s North Dakota ID. The application also warns that having a firearm while possessing marijuana may break federal law.
