Independent audit of development fund

The law requires an out-of-state, independent firm to audit the Commerce Department and the North Dakota Development Fund. The Legislative Management chairman arranges the audit and must receive the report by August 30, 2026. The audit reviews economy, efficiency, and effectiveness for 2020 through 2024, and gives recommendations. A fund representative must present findings to Legislative Management before September 1, 2026. The state provides general fund money for this audit for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027.
