Budget Section handles federal grant hearings

The law lets the Budget Section hold public hearings on new or changed federal block grants. This authority starts after the Sixty-ninth Legislative Assembly recesses or adjourns and lasts through September 30, 2027. The Department of Commerce appropriation bill serves as approval and sets directions for using Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) money through September 30, 2027. The Budget Section can give public notice and run these hearings using methods it finds appropriate. This does not add money or change who can get benefits.
