Higher cap for National Guard claims

Beginning 60 days after passage, the state can pay up to $1,000 per person for certain claims (up from $500). This covers accidents tied to New Hampshire National Guard activities or other claims against the Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services. File your claim with the Adjutant General. The Adjutant General investigates and recommends payment; the Governor and Council must approve. The state cannot pay if the United States covers any part. Payments come from the Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services budget.
