New Hampshire building codes start July 2025
Beginning July 1, 2025, New Hampshire uses updated model building and electrical codes. The law adopts by reference the 2021 International Building, Residential, Existing Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical Codes. It also adopts the 2021 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code, the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code, and the 2023 National Electrical Code. Only amendments approved by the State Building Code Review Board by September 13, 2024 and ratified by the Legislature apply. These updates improve safety and consistency but can raise compliance and construction costs.
