Teacher credentials denied for serious crimes
The law blocks a New Hampshire teaching credential or candidate clearance if, in the past 10 years, you were charged (case still pending) or convicted of certain listed crimes. These include felony drug possession with intent to sell, many sexual offenses, violent crimes, kidnapping, robbery, fraud or theft, and crimes involving obscene material with a child. Equivalent offenses from other U.S. states and territories count the same. The rule applies to all educator credential applicants and candidate clearances by the department. The law takes effect immediately upon passage.
