Towns and districts can require tax impact notices
The law lets any town or district adopt a rule to show the estimated tax impact on the annual budget and on special warrant articles that affect taxes. The governing body must approve the estimate. For articles with multi-year tax effects or lease deals (with or without a non-appropriation clause), the notation lists the estimated tax for each year. It must cover the first five years, or every year if the impact lasts less than five years. Once a town or district adopts this rule, it applies without any extra local votes. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
