Expanded impact fees for new development
In New Hampshire, the law expands what local impact fees can fund. Cities and towns may charge fees on new subdivisions, building projects, and other land-use changes. Fees can pay for water and sewer systems; stormwater and flood control; roads; municipal offices; public schools (including a town’s share of regional schools); public safety; public works; solid waste; libraries; and recreation facilities. Public open space is excluded. It expressly adds municipal public works facilities to the list and takes effect 60 days after passage.
