Child support: default wage garnishment, waiver form
Beginning January 1, 2026, the court tells both parents at the hearing that wage garnishment for child support is automatic unless both agree to another plan. Before a temporary hearing, the court gives a standard form to request a waiver. The form explains when garnishment becomes mandatory and lets both sides write a payment plan. It tells the payer to keep proof of every payment. It tells the payee how to report missed payments.
