Towns cannot force minimum parking anymore
Beginning 60 days after enactment, towns and cities cannot require a minimum number of off‑street parking spaces for any use or project. Planning boards cannot add parking minimums during site plan review for non‑residential or multi‑family projects. All local parking‑minimum rules in effect on that date are null and void. The state repeals the old on‑site parking statute and blocks cities from using other zoning powers to set minimums. Developers and property owners get more flexibility and can build with less parking.
