Beginning 60 days after passage, cities, towns, village districts, and counties with unincorporated towns or unorganized places cannot set occupancy limits below 2 people per bedroom. The law also bans zoning rules that treat people differently because of family ties, marital status, or student status, including college students. State building and fire code enforcement still applies.
