Statewide math help for high schoolers
Beginning July 1, 2025, New Hampshire runs a statewide Math Learning Communities program for public high schools. The Community College System partners with local schools to deliver it. The program serves students who struggle with math or do not thrive in traditional classes. Courses help students master Algebra 2 concepts needed for college. Students who show Algebra 2 mastery are considered for dual-enrollment college math through the partnership.
Training and support for math teachers
Beginning July 1, 2025, teachers in the program must take ongoing training and professional development. Training focuses on helping students who lost prior math skills or resist math. The law also creates a statewide community of practice so teachers can share methods and get support.
