Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 3 mixed.
Faster return of seized firearms with checks
Beginning January 1, 2026, if a court or police took your gun or ammo under a court order, it is returned promptly after the order ends, unless a law bans you from having it. Courts do not have to run a background check, but they can ask for one. If asked, the Department of Safety must answer within 10 business days with “proceed” or “deny.” A denial must cite the law and facts. You can get a quick court hearing and can appeal to the state Supreme Court within 30 days, with no transcript fee.
Project manager needed for big school builds
To get state building aid, school construction or reconstruction projects of $1,000,000 or more must hire an owner’s project manager, unless the commissioner waives it. The manager must carry general liability, auto, workers’ compensation, and professional liability insurance. The State Board of Education sets the manager’s duties, services, and qualifications by rule.
New Hampshire rejects some out-of-state licenses
New Hampshire does not accept out-of-state licenses made only for undocumented people or marked as not lawfully present. Driving with one is a violation, and a second time is a class B misdemeanor. Police cannot stop a car just because they think the driver has one of these licenses. The state posts and updates a public list of the invalid license types, and states can ask to be removed. These licenses are also not recognized under driver’s license reciprocity.
