School ballots show costs and scores
The law standardizes school district ballots. Clerks must prepare them the same way town clerks do for nonpartisan town elections. The school ballot must be a different color than any other ballot at the same election. Right before the school budget question, the ballot prints the district’s average cost per pupil and last year’s test scores from the state education department as: "ELA Proficiency: X%; Math Proficiency: X%; Science Proficiency: X%." This applies starting 60 days after the law’s passage.
