District-paid tuition at approved private schools
The law lets a school board pay tuition to an approved private school for a child who lives in the district. This applies only if the district has no public school at the child’s grade level. The board must approve the private school as a school tuition program and decide it is in the child’s best interest. Approved private schools can include religious schools. The board may raise and set aside district money to fund the contract.
