Event organizers must pay for police details
The Police Standards and Training Council can assign its training officers to work events after hours. These details cover law enforcement and crowd control at public or private events. The hiring group must reimburse the Council at a rate it sets. The rate covers officer pay, vehicle use, benefits, and other costs. Officers on detail can enforce all criminal and motor vehicle laws where they work. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
