Schools share Type 1 diabetes info with parents
The New Hampshire Department of Education, with Health and Human Services, develops or finds Type 1 diabetes materials. It posts them on the state education website and updates them as needed. The materials explain what Type 1 diabetes is, risk factors and warning signs, how screening works, and what test results mean. They also recommend talking with the child’s primary care doctor if warning signs appear and after a diagnosis to plan treatment. Every school district must make these materials available to parents or guardians, such as on the district website or by other digital means. The law takes effect upon passage.
