Faster driveway permits for homes and apartments
Beginning 60 days after passage, the law sets firm deadlines for residential driveway and access permits on state highways. For houses and multifamily projects that are not major traffic generators or major entrances, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation must issue the permit within 60 days of receiving a completed application. For projects labeled a major traffic generator or major entrance under the department’s driveway/access policy, the deadline is 90 days. This speeds decisions and reduces waiting time for homeowners and small developers.
