New checkout rules for hotels and lodgings
Hotels and similar lodgings must write down each guest’s agreed departure date and time at check-in. A guest cannot stay past that recorded time without the operator’s consent. This applies to hotels, public lodging houses, tourist camps, and cabins. The law takes effect upon passage.
Hotel rate postings and motel signs repealed
Hotels no longer have to post room rates in guest rooms. The state rules for motel rate signs are also removed. Operators lose these compliance duties. Travelers may see fewer posted prices or standard signs. The law takes effect upon passage.
