Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

Easier contracting on $1 million state projects

The law raises the project cap for Fish and Game, Military Affairs and Veterans Services, and Natural and Cultural Resources from $500,000 to $1,000,000. The commissioner can grant the same $1,000,000 exclusion to other agencies when it serves the state. Exempted projects may use agency crews, competitive-bid contracts, short-term equipment rentals, or any mix. These departments can rent construction equipment for up to six months at competitive quoted or bid rates. These changes take effect only after the adjutant general certifies funding for two contracting positions; without certification, they do not start.

Other parts take effect in 60 days

All other parts of the law take effect 60 days after passage. This sets a clear start date for the non‑contingent changes.
