Study on hospice and palliative access
The law creates a five-member legislative committee to study palliative and hospice care. The Speaker appoints three House members, and the Senate President appoints two Senators. Members elect a chair. The first-named Senate member calls the first meeting within 45 days of passage, and three members make a quorum. The committee reviews availability and barriers to care, including for people with disabilities, long-term care recipients, people with dementia, and veterans. Members get mileage at the legislative rate for committee travel. The committee must send its report, with any bill ideas, to the Senate President, House Speaker, both clerks, the Governor, and the State Library by November 1, 2025. The law takes effect upon passage.
