Medical providers follow federal drug inventory rules

The law aligns New Hampshire’s controlled drug inventory timing with federal rules. Anyone federal law requires to take a controlled‑substance inventory must do it every two years under 21 U.S.C. § 1304.11(c). This covers physicians, podiatrists, dentists, veterinarians, optometrists, advanced practice registered nurses, manufacturers, wholesalers, pharmacies, clinics, hospitals, and laboratories. It replaces the old state rule that said to do inventories in odd‑numbered years. The Board of Pharmacy can set rules to ensure compliance. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
