Stronger move-over rules for drivers

The law requires you to slow down near road incidents and stopped vehicles showing warnings. If safe, move over or give a wide berth without endangering oncoming traffic. Obey people directing traffic, emergency signals, and control devices, and leave any blocked lane as soon as possible. It applies to fires, crashes, disasters, utility work, police stops, and vehicles with hazard lights, flares, cones, or signs. Emergency response drivers are exempt. The law took effect 60 days after passage.
