Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
Building on Class VI roads requires waiver
If your lot is accessible by a Class VI highway, a building permit now requires a signed liability waiver. The waiver says the town does not maintain the road or provide any services to that lot. It also says the town is not responsible for any losses or damage from the lack of services; you accept those risks and costs. You must record the signed waiver at the county registry of deeds and show proof before the permit is issued.
Law starts 60 days after passage
The law takes effect 60 days after it passes. The permit and waiver rules apply starting then.
