Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Physician assistants renamed; rights unchanged

The law changes the title “physician assistant” to “physician associate” across New Hampshire law. It does not change anyone’s rights, duties, or privileges. Wherever the law says “physician associate,” it also means “physician assistant.” Sections 7 and 8 take effect January 1, 2027. The rest takes effect upon passage.

CME rules for physician associates

Physician associates who once earned NCCPA certification but do not keep it active must complete continuing medical education. The law makes this requirement explicit and in force.
