Study committee on pet boarding safety
The law creates a committee to study private animal boarding facilities. One senator and two representatives serve; leaders of each chamber appoint them. Members elect a chair. The first-named senator calls the first meeting within 30 days of passage, and two members make a quorum. The committee reviews current laws, licensing, and how harm, loss, or death of animals is reported, and it takes public testimony. Members get mileage at the legislative rate for committee work. The committee must send findings and any proposed bills by November 1, 2025, to the senate president, house speaker, both clerks, the governor, and the state library. The law takes effect upon passage.
