New fund for public boat ramps
Beginning 60 days after passage, the law creates a Statewide Public Boat Access Fund. The fund does not expire; money carries over each year. The $5 boat decal fee and any donations for public access go into this fund. The Fish and Game Department uses the money only for the statewide public boat access program. The law also appropriates enough money to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. This pays principal and interest on bonds and notes for the Mount Sunapee State Park beach boat ramp project.
