Criminal trials allowed in more counties
Beginning January 1, 2026, prosecutors can file charges and hold trial in any New Hampshire county or judicial district where any part or element of a crime happened. If someone is feloniously stricken, wounded, or poisoned in one county and dies in another, the case can be tried in either place. This expands venue beyond only where the offense was committed.
