More virtual early learning help for families

Beginning July 1, 2025, the program is renamed the Virtual Early Childhood Family Engagement Program. It provides training and coaching to parents and guardians statewide to help children be ready for kindergarten. The law keeps the program in place through September 30, 2027. The state funds it with $1,000,000 in FY 2025-26 and $1,000,000 in FY 2026-27. Unspent money cannot be committed after June 30 each year and must be returned by September 18, 2026 and September 17, 2027.

Stronger reporting on early learning program

The group that runs the program must file reports to DHHS by July 30 in 2025, 2026, and 2027. Each report includes total and county enrollment, child outcomes in reading, writing, and math, and demographics. DHHS must send a combined data report by September 30 in 2025, 2026, and 2027. It goes to the interim Education and Health and Human Services committees in 2025 and 2027, and to the next regular legislative session in 2026.
