Lower business fees for veterans and families

For licenses issued on or after July 1, 2025, Nevada waives qualifying businesses’ state license issuance fees. Renewal fees are also waived for the first three years after issuance. These fees normally cost $200, or $500 for certain corporations. Individual applicants must live in Nevada and be eligible veterans or Gold Star family members. Eligible veterans retired after at least 20 years of creditable military service or because of a qualifying physical disability. Gold Star family members are spouses, natural or adopted children, or parents of service members covered by federal law. Business entities qualify when one or more eligible veterans or Gold Star family members own at least 51%. An applicant cannot get an issuance-fee waiver after receiving one for another qualifying business. The Secretary of State can also waive annual license fees and related penalties for individuals or partnerships that conducted no business during the relevant period.
