Medicaid home care for frail seniors

Beginning January 1, 2026, Nevada must seek federal approval to add Medicaid attendant care for frail older adults. Services include help with bathing, grooming, toileting, moving about, dressing, and eating. Nevada can start coverage only to the extent the federal government approves it. Recipients must meet Nevada’s legal definition of a frail elderly person and eligibility rules set by the Department. This coverage is in addition to home and community-based services covered by the waiver as of January 1, 2026. Rulemaking and preparatory work are authorized from passage.

New website connects households with home care

Beginning January 1, 2026, Nevada must create a website to help people find and compare in-home personal care agencies. It must list every licensed agency, its location and contact information, and the areas it serves. Listings must show services, care levels, all past disciplinary actions, and accepted insurance. The website must let agencies that choose to participate connect with people seeking care. Preparatory work is authorized from passage; the website itself does not guarantee care or insurance coverage.
