Holdover for Historical Society representative

On July 1, 2025, the person serving as the Nevada Historical Society’s representative keeps serving until a successor is named under the amended law. This preserves continuity during the handoff.

New membership for state names board

Beginning July 1, 2025, the State Board on Geographic Names has 9 voting members, down from 12. Voting seats go to: Mines and Geology; UNR faculty; UNLV faculty; State Library, Archives and Public Records; Transportation; Conservation and Natural Resources; the Division of Museums and History; the Department of Native American Affairs; and the Inter‑Tribal Council of Nevada. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and National Park Service now serve as nonvoting advisors. Each seat‑holding agency or group must name one representative and one alternate.
