Funds to modernize voter registration system

Beginning July 1, 2025, Nevada funds major upgrades to its voter registration and elections system. The Secretary of State gets $27,004,162 ($27.0 million) to replace the statewide system. It also gets $748,800 for consulting to support the rollout. Another $3,487,364 ($3.49 million) connects automatic voter registration agencies to the system. Money comes from the State General Fund under the HAVA Election Reform account.

Deadlines to use voter system funds

This law sets deadlines on the election-system funds. The Secretary of State cannot commit any remaining money after June 30, 2027. It cannot spend any remaining money after September 17, 2027. Any leftover funds must return to the State General Fund by September 17, 2027. These rules apply to the appropriations in this act.
